Whether you're sending machinery, equipment, or a bulk pallet load, our system works out the real-world cost using actual driving distance and time.
How Quote Calculator Works
Our calculator uses your delivery postcode to determine the full round-trip mileage from our base. It then applies a cost formula based on three factors:
1. Journey Fuel Cost
OpenAI's 4.1-mini model, calculates the total fuel required using, the current cost of diesel and the fuel efficiency of the vehicle.
2. Labour Cost
The calculator estimates drive time using real UK road data and factors in a standard hourly rate for time worked.
3. Round Trip Distance
We don’t use straight-line ("as-the-crow-flies") measurements. Instead, the calculator uses real road mileage based on actual UK routes.
- The system queries Google Maps API to get the precise distance and estimated drive time from our depot to your destination.
- Drive time is also based on a real traffic-aware price, not generic averages.
This approach gives you a highly accurate quote, even before speaking to us — and helps us plan efficiently with fewer surprises on the road.
